I was feeling very lost and without purpose in life. I had been struggling with addiction issues for a few years and knew it was time for a change. I had been toying with the idea of seeing a hypnotherapist, but I hadn't actually made the commitment to myself to follow through on it. Until one day, I saw a billboard for Atwood Hypnosis and it felt like a sign.
When I had my consultation with Dana, I immediately connected with her. She was so understanding and kind and truly gave me a sense of hope. I knew I was ready to take the steps to turn my life around. She saw something in me as well, which inspired her to work on a sliding scale with me, which, absolutely, made me not want to let her or myself down.
I have successfully given up my addiction with her guidance. She also helped me to conquer some trauma from my youth which has opened up new pathways for me in every direction. She is truly one of the kindest souls I’ve ever encountered on this earth. She’s so much more than a hypnotherapist. She’s a cheerleader, she’s a life coach, and I’d like to think she’s a friend. I’m so grateful for her help. You can’t go wrong with her. - Nicolette Kennedy, 5 stars
I worked with Dana at Atwood Hypnosis for six sessions and experienced real breakthroughs. Her work was powerful and transformative, and I noticed an immediate shift in how I felt and responded to things. Dana is skilled, professional, and highly recommended. - Glenn Tinghitella, 5 stars
I saw Dana for fear of flying. I was surprised that her services included a nightly recording catered to me. Our sessions quickly helped me get to the root of my fears, and in less than a month after seeing Dana I felt calm when I took my next flight. A huge improvement! - Katie Dineen, 5 stars
I had never tried hypnosis before, but after hearing from someone who used it successfully to quit smoking, I decided to give it a shot. I hit a lot of dead ends reaching out to hypnotists in Portland—until I connected with Dana, who was welcoming and happy to work with me.
Not knowing what to expect, I found hypnosis to be very similar to guided meditation. It’s a calm, meditative state where you work with your subconscious to shift outdated beliefs that may be holding you back. For me, hypnosis with Dana helped me overcome my brain’s dependency on sugar and sparked other positive changes that have truly stuck.
I’ve become an evangelist for hypnosis—but I’ve learned that not every hypnotist is the same. Dana’s framework is especially effective, and I highly recommend it to anyone curious about making meaningful change! - Amber Rowland, 5 stars
I asked Dana Atwood to help me quitting smoking—and not only did I quit, but we also made progress with other issues like insomnia & anxiety.
Dana is incredibly skilled, compassionate, and professional. She made me feel completely safe and supported from day one. Her warmth and understanding made our sessions so enjoyable, even when we explored some really hard times from my childhood that had contributed to the issues. She taught me powerful ways to cope better in case any of those memories pop up again in the future.
What I learned is that hypnosis isn’t a magic trick—it’s similar to counseling in that it took work and commitment from both of us. I always felt completely in control while hypnotized and could (and did) stop it at any moment. Dana guided me with patience, insight, and encouragement. She also sent me several personalized recordings to listen to whenever I wanted and she tweaked them as I requested and as we moved through things. I felt like we had a true partnership, and it worked: I quit smoking!! I can already taste and smell better. I’m so happy to know I no longer have smelly clothes and I am super excited about saving money too.
If you’re ready to make real, lasting changes in your life, I can’t recommend Dana highly enough. She helped me take back control, and I’m ever so grateful. - VL Raine, 5 stars
