Amanda helped me with what no one else could. I had a pretty deeply ingrained intellectualization defense that was cutting me off from other, important parts of the human experience. Amanda helped me break through my defenses in the first session and opened me up to a whole new way of experiencing the world. Her somatic emphasis separates her from other hypnotherapists. It allows you to link your own natural sensations and signals with the changes you want to make. After just five sessions, I've found balance I haven't known in a very long time, the constant overthinking and mental noise I couldn't turn off has quieted down, I'm able to be more naturally present and less in my head, and I've learned to intentionally shift my primary focus of attention between analytical (more in my head) and presence at will in a way that has resulted in vast improvements in both my personal and professional lives. Even friends, family, and colleagues who've known me for more than a decade have noticed a difference- unprompted! Apparently, I seem "calmer" and "less uptight." If you're ready to work on your self-improvement, trust Amanda- she is the real deal. Whatever your goal, her approach really is tailored to you- what you want and how you best respond. Take that chance- even on just one session, and you won't regret it. If I could give Amanda more than five stars, I would. In hindsight, I wish I'd been ready to work with her earlier. - Jay Rosenthal, 5 stars
TL;DR: Amanda is incredible at showing just how powerful the mind can be. I have to admit, I was really skeptical about hypnotherapy before trying it. For the past 5 years, I’d developed this strange habit—a low humming noise I made whenever I breathed. After countless visits to doctors who assured me nothing was medically wrong, I realized it was just a bad tic I couldn’t shake. When I went to see Amanda, I figured at the very least it might help me become more aware of when I was doing it, so I could try to stop. But after just one session, I’ve completely stopped making the noise! It’s been 2 weeks since our appointment, and for the first time in 5 years, I’m no longer making that sound—and I don’t even have to think about it. I’m honestly amazed. It was uncomfortable and so frustrating, and now my life feels exponentially better. I could cry. Amanda is so warm and makes you feel comfortable from the jump. She put me at ease and spent the first hour of our session really just trying to understand more about the habit, how it made me feel when I did or didn't do it, and digging into the root of the problem. The second hour was dedicated to the hypnosis. Amanda really is incredible at what she does and if you have any doubts, I'd encourage you to give it a try. - Jess Garfinkel, 5 stars
I can't say enough good things about Amanda. She was warm, insightful and so helpful. I'm not sure if I got hypnotized, but she certainly opened my eyes and helped to point me on a new productive path. - Darlene Liebman, 5 stars
Working with Amanda helped me immensely when I was in a deep pit of despair. I tried everything, and thought there was no hope; but in a few short sessions of hypnotherapy, I was able to climb out and see the light. I highly recommend working with Amanda and trying out hypnotherapy. It will shine the light in and you will see things anew. - Meagan Jain, 5 stars
